A 42-year-old man was arrested Wednesday evening on DUII and other charges after allegedly hitting a parked vehicle in South Eugene and fleeing the scene, according to a release from the Eugene Police Department.
In July 26 at 8:47 p.m., police were called to a report of crash during which a gray Honda Fit had run a stop sign and crashed into a parked vehicle in the 4500 block of Hillside Dr.
The driver of the Honda, identified as David William Harris, 42, of Eugene, allegedly left the scene of the crash without trying to facilitate an exchange of information with the owner of the parked vehicle.
A responding officer saw the Honda traveling at a high speed near Hilyard and W. Amazon Pkwy. The Honda reportedly was traveling with damage to its front end and a flat front right tire. A bumper was also hanging from the Honda.
The officer stopped Harris, and arrested him on charges of DUII, hit and run, and reckless driving after further investigation. He also received a citation for driving while suspended.
