Eugene man arrested after DUII hit-and-run crash on Beltline; released from jail

A 46-year-old man was arrested Thursday on multiple charges after allegedly hitting another vehicle on Beltline and leaving the scene, according to a release from the Eugene Police Department.

At 6:53 a.m., July 6, Eugene Police were called to the eastbound lanes of Beltline to a reported hit and run involving a suspected DUII driver. The incident occurred between the Delta Hwy. and Coburg Rd. exits.

Officers learned a silver 2006 Ford Taurus rear-ended a black 2004 Mercedes, which damaged the left rear area of the vehicle.

The driver of the Ford, identified as Brian Daniel Gorham, 46, of Eugene, continued traveling without exchanging information with the driver of the Mercedes.

Police say another motorist was able to persuade Gorham to pull over until officers arrived.

Police arrived to find Gorham slumped over in the driver’s seat, and noticed the front end of the Ford sustained significant damage.

Gorham was arrested and taken to Lane County Jail on charges of DUII, reckless driving, hit and run, and driving while suspended.

Lane County Jail records indicate Gorham has already been released.

Court records indicate Gorham was convicted of DUII in 2006 and 2008.
