Eugene Police arrest two on DUII charges in separate wrong-way driving incidents

Two men were arrested on DUII and other charges after separate wrong-way driving incidents early Saturday morning, according to a release from the Eugene Police Department (EPD).

At 12:29 a.m., July 15, police were called to a report of a pickup traveling southbound on Oak St., which is a one-way street with lanes traveling northbound.

The truck, a blue Dodge Dakota, allegedly struck a parked vehicle before police located the it near 20th Ave. The Dakota was found to have damage to the front passenger side.

Police spoke to the driver, Guston Erasmo Duran, 32, of Springfield, who was slumped into the passenger side of the vehicle by this time.

Duran was taken to an area hospital for evaluation, and police located a silver Honda Accord parked on Oak St. which sustained significant damage.

Duran faces charges of DUII, hit and run, reckless driving. He also was cited for open container and driving without insurance.

At 4:46 a.m., an officer traveling southbound on Patterson St., which is a one-way street, saw a 2005 Dodge Magnum approaching from the opposite direction.

The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, and contacted the driver, Marco A. Ariano-Gonzalez, 23, of Eugene. After investigating the incident, Ariano-Gonzalez was arrested on charges of DUII and reckless driving, and cited for operating a vehicle without privileges.
