UPDATED JUNE 7, 2017 AT 2:41 P.M.: According to KEZI 9 News, Lane County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) reported a body found in the McKenzie River is that of Kendall Smith, 21. LCSO and the Lane County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating her death.

Family members are seeking help from the community in locating a missing Springfield woman.

Kendall Smith, 21, of Springfield, was last seen June 1 at the Hayden Bridge boat ramp just before midnight.

Family members are seeking the community’s help locating Kendall Smith, 21, of Springfield, who was last seen June 1 at the Hayden Bridge boat ramp just before midnight.

Smith is described as a white female who stands 5’8″ tall, and weighs about 105 pounds. She has maroon hair and blue eyes.

She is reported to have tattoos on her left thigh, lower back and ankle. Family members emphasize the importance of locating Smith, as she is a Type I diabetic.

Authorities say Smith had gone on a picnic with a friend near the water. The friend had gone to retrieve a bag to gather their belongings, and heard her scream. The friend told authorities after he heard her scream, he heard a what sounded like a person jumping or falling into the water.

Lane County Sheriff’s Office has conducted searches both on land and in the water, and have not found Smith.
