K-9 assists in arrest of fugitive after he ran through Roseburg Walmart

A 34-year-old Roseburg man was arrested Friday night after attempting to elude capture by running through Walmart and hiding outside, according to a release from Roseburg Police.

A few minutes before 11 p.m., police were informed a fugitive, Anthony Jerome Flores, 34, of Roseburg, was shopping inside Walmart.

Officers arrived and contacted Flores, who ran through the store and exited through the garden center entrance.

Flores allegedly ran out to a brushy area outside the store, and officers established a perimeter.

With assistance from K-9 Axel, Flores was located in a tree in the brushy area without further incident,

Flores was lodged in Douglas County Jail on a warrant for failing to appear on a charge of possession of methamphetamine, and as a fugitive for failing to appear on a charge of providing false information to police and a parole violation from the Oregon State Parole Board.
