A 22-year-old man faces multiple charges after assaulting a man in his own home Thursday morning, according to a release from Eugene Police.
At 8:53 a.m., Aug. 31, police were dispatched to a home in the 2100 block of W. 12th Ave. to a report of a fight between two male subjects.
Officers arrived to the home, and found the 55-year-old homeowner holding down the suspect, identified as Andrew William Hart Beebe, 22.
Police say Beebe came to the home looking for another person. The homeowner let Beebe inside, after which Beebe allegedly assaulted the homeowner with a hammer, and sprayed him with pepper spray. Beebe also was reported to be armed with a CO2-type pistol.
During the incident, the homeowner gained the upper hand, and was able to detain Beebe until police arrived.
The homeowner was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, and Beebe also was evaluated at an area hospital.
Bebbe faces charges of first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, first-degree criminal trespass, second-degree unlawful use of mace and third-degree theft.
