Man arrested in Downtown Eugene after allegedly lighting objects on fire and stopping traffic

A 27-year-old man was arrested late Saturday night on multiple charges in Downtown Eugene, according to a release from the Eugene Police Department.

At 11:43 p.m., June 24, police were called to the area of W. 8th Ave. and Willamette St. to a report of a male subject behaving in a disorderly manner. It is alleged the subject had been throwing trash, lighting objects on fire and stopping traffic.

The officer arrived, and found the subject, Jared Patrick Brooks, 27, of Eugene. Subsequent investigation led to police also finding Brooks in possession of heroin.

Jared Patrick Brooks, 27, of Eugene, was arrested June 24, 2017 in Eugene aft6er allegedly possessing heroin and behaving in a disorderly manner downtown.

Brooks was arrested and taken to Lane County Jail on charges of possession of heroin, reckless burning and second-degree disorderly conduct.
