Man caught with meth after allegedly breaking into car in Downtown Eugene

A 37-year-old man was arrested Tuesday morning after allegedly breaking into a vehicle and getting caught with methamphetamine in Downtown Eugene, according to a release from Eugene Police Department.

At 5:17 a.m., Aug. 8, police responded to a report of a man who was in a parking lot at 50 E. 11th Ave. who reportedly entered a vehicle without permission.

An officer arrived and saw the man, Kyle Alan Lowry, 37, of Eugene, running from the area, and stopped him at 11th and Oak.

As the officer was speaking with Lowry, several items were seen on the ground which were believed to have been taken from the vehicle.

Lowry was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine, and arrested for that charge and unlawful entry into a motor vehicle. He also was lodged in Lane County Jail on two warrants.
