Eugene, OR – On April 13 at 11:10 p.m., police were called after a vehicle crashed into the fence and the driver was reported to have pulled a Eugene woman, age 40, out of her vehicle and fled in it.

The driver, later identified as Iain Andrew Ross Dingwall, age 37, of Walton, was reported to have crashed his four-door Lexus, in a yard on the northwest corner of Lorane Highway and Washington Street. The car had gone through a wooden fence and into an unoccupied camp trailer and also damaging an R.V. parking area.

Shortly thereafter the female victim reported a man got into the passenger side of her SUV while she was in it and grabbed her. She was able to get free and out of the vehicle and the suspect drove off in it. The vehicle failed to negotiate a turn and drove through shrubbery and off an embankment, where it rolled several times in the 2800 block of Washington. Officers located it and Dingwall. Dingwall was conscious but injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Dingwall was charged with DUII, Reckless Driving, Harassment, Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, and Unlawful Use Vehicle.
