Man faces murder charge in death of 13-month-old Gresham boy

A 21-year-old man was arrested Saturday in connection to the death of a 13-month-old Gresham boy, according to a release from the Gresham Police Department.

At about 10 a.m., Sept. 21, officers and medical personnel were called to a location in the 400 block of SE 169th Ave. to a report of a 13-month-old boy who was unconscious and had stopped breathing.

First responders attempted life saving measures on the boy without success.

Detectives with the Multnomah County Child Abuse Team were called to the scene to investigate the boy’s death.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office determined on Sept. 22 the boy died as a result of a traumatic brain injury and ruled his death a homicide.

At about 1 p.m., Sept. 23, after an investigation, police arrested Shalondre Adams, 21, on one charge of murder in connection to the boy’s death.

Adams was the boyfriend of the child’s mother.
