UPDATED SEPT. 8, 2017 AT 4:48 P.M.: According to court and Lane County Jail records, Dianne Parham has been released from Lane County Jail due to the murder charge being dismissed. Dwayne Parham remains lodged in Lane County Jail on a probation violation.
A Springfield woman and her son were arrested early Sunday morning in connection to the death of an unidentified person, according to a release from Springfield Police.
At 12:11 a.m., Sept. 3, police were called to a location in the 2600 block of D St. concerning a medical call.
Upon arrival, police located an unidentified victim lying in the street who had sustained life-threatening injuries.
The victim was taken to Riverbend Hospital, but later died from the injuries.
Officers at the scene recovered at least one weapon suspected to have been used in the incident, and interviewed witnesses.
Information obtained by police led them to interview Dianne Marie Parham, 52, and Dwayne Allen Parham, 30, both of Springfield.
Continued investigation led to police learning the suspects and the victim were acquainted, with the attack stemming from a dispute at a nearby residence that spilled out into the street.
Police say they are not looking for any other suspects. The victim has not been identified at this time, pending notification of kin.
Dianne Parham was arrested on a charge of murder, and Dwayne Parham was arrested on charges of second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. This article will be updated as more information is made available.
