A 56-year-old man was arrested after allegedly robbing a Downtown Eugene bank Thursday, according to a release from the Eugene Police Department.

On Aug. 3, at 11:59 a.m., officers were called to a report of a robbery in progress at the US Bank branch located at 800 Willamette St.

Police say the suspect, Steven Robert Pinedo, 56, entered the bank and announced an armed robbery, while threatening to assault bank employees.

No weapon, however, was displayed during the incident.

Officers responded and arrested Pinedo, who sustained an arm injury during the arrest. Pinedo was taken to an area medical facility for treatment, and will be lodged in Lane County Jail thereafter.
