Polk County heroin trafficking suspect arrested

UPDATED MAY 12, 2017 AT 10:55 P.M.: Samantha Gaines was booked into Polk County Jail at 9:36 p.m., according to Polk County Jail records. She is held on three counts of unlawful delivery of heroin, two counts of possession of heroin, and a Marion County hold for delivery of heroin.

Beginning in March 2017, the Polk Interagency Narcotics Team (P.O.I.N.T) began a more than month-long investigation into the trafficking of Heroin in the Polk and Marion County areas involving alleged suspects Samantha Gaines, Levi McCleskey, and others.

Collaborating with the Salem Police Street Crimes Unit,  McCleskey was taken into custody on April 21st, 2017. At the time McCleskey was found to be in possession of 22.5 grams of heroin, danabol steroids, and a significant amount of cash and gold.

Police also executed a search warrant at the McCleskey residence and a storage unit held by Samantha Gaines where more contraband was located.

Gaines remains at large, has felony warrants for her arrest and is believed to be armed with either a .45 caliber or 9mm pistol. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance with information leading to locating her.

Samantha Gaines is wanted on charges related to Heroin trafficking.











Gaines should be considered dangerous.
