The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help locating a Portland-area woman last seen Saturday who has been reported missing, according to a press release.

Demi Helenius, 23, was last seen by her parents Saturday morning, after she had gone to a conference the previous day at a Portland hotel. Helenius attended the conference Saturday, which went until 10 p.m.

Helenius’ parents report she normally is communicative with them, but had not heard from her. They placed a call to her cell phone, which was answered by the employee of Dairy Queen in Creswell, who reported a man had gone through the drive-thru and given it to her after reporting he had found it.

A 2013 VW Bug owned by Helenius was recovered Sunday night in Cottage Grove. Police say there are no initial signs of foul play in the vehicle, but will be examined more closely by the Oregon State Police Crime Lab.
