Portland Police arrest 2 in homicide case from April

Two people were arrested Wednesday in connection to the murder of a 30-year-old Portland man, according to a release from the Portland Police Bureau (PPB).

PPB fielded a report on April 7 concerning Daniel Cohen, 30, of Portland, who had not been seen by his family, or in contact with them.

During the proceeding investigation, PPB homicide detectives learned a body had been found in Lane County. An autopsy was conducted, with homicidal violence determined to be the cause of death. The body was determined to be that of Cohen.

On Aug. 9, two suspects, Jessika L. Atkinson, 23, and Peter Jirasek, 34, were apprehended in the Beaverton area. Both were lodged in Multnomah County Jail on a charge of murder. Atkinson also was lodged in a probation violation.
